Family Photos on the farm with a gorgeous red barn, water and fields | Park Rapids, MN Family and Children Photographer

Photographing this family for the fourth time! They are the sweetest! I am so blessed that they hired me a few years ago to do their family photos. It was mom, dad, and three kids. At the very end of that first session, they told me they were expecting baby # 4! WAHOO! How exciting! Well, Then I came back and did family portraits, newborn portraits, and was able to capture them in their lake home before they moved out of state, and we have spent time photographing them at Itasca State Park at the Mississippi River Headwaters. Now, they came all they way back to Minnesota this summer just to let me get their photos 🙂 Well, okay, they wanted to visit family, too… But, I’ll pretend it was just to see me and let me see how precious newborn Ember has grown into a full-blown, walking and prancing little toddler girl!

I love getting to know families and their stories through what the parents and the kids say during our session and this family is the rule! They’re a beautiful family, and I hope I get to keep capturing their growth and changes whenever they’re “back home!”

Newborn Girl Aviana | Park Rapids, MN Family & Baby Photographer

I am so glad I had the morning to photograph this lovely family near Park Rapids. It was a treat to meet them! Dad’s sister and her family are regular clients of mine whom I love, so it’s always fun to know more of a great family! I love getting into people’s homes and their lives a little bit when I go to take pictures. These kids were shy for the first few minutes, then they had their balance bikes out, they were doing tricks for their upcoming “clown show” for visiting cousins, and just chatting away! It was such a blessing to meet tiny little Aviana. Tell you what, this almost-2-week-old girl was a complete dolly! She dressed well, ate well, slept well, and laid (lay? lie?) there so well for her debut photo shoot. What a champ! AKP Erickson Aviana--14 AKP Erickson Aviana--6 AKP Erickson Aviana--16 AKP Erickson Aviana--22 AKP Erickson Aviana--23 AKP Erickson Aviana--24 AKP Erickson Aviana--25 AKP Erickson Aviana--27 AKP Erickson Aviana--34 AKP Erickson Aviana--35

Emma, Class of 2015 Pictures | Bemidji, MN Senior Portrait Photographer

Wahoo! I had a blast at this one! Emma and her mom were so much fun to be with, and cooperated with my ploys to give her some great shots! Emma shared from the get-go that she loves Minnie Mouse, and, well, all things Disney. She and her family have gone every year to Disney World for the past lotsa-years. She brought a pair of Minnie Ears that she recently acquired–which I was surprised to learn, upon knowledge of her life-long infatuation, that she only just now got them– and struck a classic Minnie pose for us! How fun! We enjoyed Lake Bemidji and used the Paul & Babe park near the Chamber of Commerce. We went by the water, and down the little trail, then headed over to the sweet old rock stairs behind the Art Center/old Library. Emma was super smiley and seemed to really let lose when I asked her to sing for me. WOW, can that girl sing!!!!!!!!! She blew me away with her Little Mermaid and Aladdin solo productions. Like, really amazing! Her mom was like, “That’s how she let’s off steam.” I can only imagine how wonderful it is to hear her so often singing!

Kaya Wedding Part Two: White | Itasca State Park, Mississippi River Photographer, Bemidji MN

Remember these lovely newlyweds? They were married in September and had their formal portraits taken at Itasca State Park. The leaves were perfectly golden, the grass still green, the roads cluttered with fallen leaves, while the trees stood firm. It was a cold and misty day, but it was beautiful, nonetheless.

Mr. & Mrs. Kaya were fun to work with, and got more and more comfortable in front of the lens as the hours passed. I am so grateful to have shot this wedding. It was just stunning to see the lovely hand-made bridal head piece that Christina wore. She was the most stunning bride with the long ribbons, pearls, and lace cascading down her back. They trailed over buttons from her dress and stood out in their soft peachy highlights against her delicate dress.
