S Family Photos | Bemidji, MN Children and Family Portrait Photographer

Hey, cute family! I am having a blast looking back at these photos from our quick and chilly November mini session. These kids. If you haven’t met them before, let me do the honor of introducing you to some of the most passionate children you have ever met. They are caring and kind, and give you every ounce of energy they can compose. They have hearts for the Lord, each one of them, and devote everything they have to telling you every story of imagination, food, creation, and friendship. They read books, they play games, they are sporty, and they’re fun! This couple lived in Chicago for a few years at Moody Bible College, and now are in Bemidji building relationships with Native Americans, stretching them and challenging them in a walk with the Lord. We serve with these guys at Oak Hills Center for Indian Ministries. What  blessing to photograph a sweet sweet family like these guys.

♥ Tribute to Weddings, Part One | A Wedding Song | Amy Kate :: Bemidji Wedding Photographer

I’ve decided to work on documenting the beautiful weddings that I have been blessed to be a part of. Here is the first installment 🙂

The better you know me, the more you understand that I AM IN LOVE. I know that my husband loves me with a pure, gentle, and giving love. I know that he is going to continue providing more than I can ever ask for or imagine. Together, we have a joy that comes only from our relationship with Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Tim and I have the love, mercy, and justice of our God. HE is everything to me and Tim. That is why our love for each other can be as beautiful and gracious as it is.

We strive to love one another unconditionally, just as we are loved. A hymn by Stuart Townend and Keith Getty, In Christ Alone, beautifully portrays the foundation that my husband Tim and laid our marriage on. Here is that song.

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fulness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied –
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine –
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

Jordan & Rosa

In March, I was honored to photograph Tim’s BFF Jordan’s wedding near Chicago. Jordan married a beautiful, sweet Rosa. This was a prized day to see best friends unite in Christ through their marriage. Praise the Lord for a God-honoring relationship.

While I captured the photographs, LuLu He did the videography. And let me tell you, SHE WAS AWESOME!!!

Here is LuLu’s video highlighting Jordan & Rosa’s Wedding. WOW. Be amazed.

Goosey Cake… I’m dying just looking at it.

Okay, this is the BEST cake I’ve ever had in my life. And, because I am  not yet done with the Gilbert’s wedding pictures, I thought I would share this delicious one from the Groom’s Dinner which followed their Rehearsal. I LOVED this cake.
