Cass Lake, Minnesota Wedding + Lifestyle Portrait Photographer
Back in November, I had the opportunity to photograph this sharp looking family for their Christmas Card picture in a Christmas Mini Session. What fun! We were playing around with ornaments and Christmas decorations in front of my mom’s log cabin fireplace. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO cold out though, so we rushed around and snapped some keepers in front of a stand of pines. 🙂
Yesterday, I got to meet this sweet family.
The two girls are over 6 years apart, which was so fun, because big sister got to help out a lot with baby sister! This little seven month old was a total ham, and loooooves that she can sit up on her own! Her seven-year-old counterpart wanted to get over with everyone else’s photos so we could focus on her 🙂 Pretty mama and her Mr. were excellently flexible, and got some of the indoor shots they wanted before I forced them all outside… into snow, cold, and good lighting. Thanks you guys!!! Little baby girl Avery was obsessed with the grass and snow combo and didn’t want to go in when we were done!
I had the joy of laughing with this family while I took their family photos.
The main goal of the session was to get a good shot for their Christmas card. I hope we did that!
I really enjoyed the kids: They were so funny… the girls were complete girls — totally into modeling for me with princess waves and funny stories to make each other laugh. The little boy was a total boy — grumping about having to pose for the camera but throwing me cheesy grins and goofball antics. His favorite thing we would do to make him laugh was call him “daddy.” He thought it was the craziest idea, and loved it!

Although it is hard to believe, we are now in the holiday season, already getting ready to say, “Merry Christmas!” I can’t understand, for the life of me, where time goes. It moves beyond catching up with. Add in children, and you can’t blink fast enough, right?
Well, anyway, I am so glad to have started some great family sessions this Fall. Thinking ahead is SO important! This family had their session at their home, in Nevis… On the Lake! How wonderful! The colors were rich, and they did an excellent job coordinating their outfits!
